AquaFX RO/DI systems are great for saltwater fish and reef aquariums. They are the filtration system of choice if you are looking to achieve ZERO TDS water!
RO/DI (Reverse Osmosis / Deionization) systems include the follow filtration stages:
Sediment Filter – removes dirt/silt and other large particles from water
Carbon Filter – removes chlorine, fluoride, pesticides and other VOCs. Chloramine Blaster filters effectively remove chloramines.
RO Filter – the RO filter is the heart of the RO/DI system. By utilizing a TFC membrane (thin film composite) and water pressure, the RO membrane removes over 95% of contaminates from water. These impurities include: lead, arsenic, phosphorous, calcium, magnesium, nitrate, viruses, bacteria and much more.
Deionization Filter – The DI filter is the last stage(s) of an RO/DI system. By using ion-exchange resins, the DI filter removes all the remaining impurities; leaving you with pure, zero TDS, water.
Barracuda RO/DI System
The Barracuda RO/DI system is our most popular line or RO/DI Systems. It offers all the essentials and great components to produce ZERO TDS water. Being hand built in the USA with USA-made RO Membrane and USA-made DI Resin, our Barracuda RO/DI system offers a superior level of quality and value that is unmatched.
Barracuda Glacial RO/DI System
The Barracuda Glacial RO/DI System adds a manual flush kit to extend RO membrane life, a Backlit TDS Meter to help monitor system performance and an Automatic Shut Off Kit to make operation super convenient and easy.
Barracuda Platinum RO/DI System
The Platinum is the top-of-the-line Barracuda model. The main upgrade from the Barracuda Glacial is the booster pump to improve system performance and efficiency. The ASO (Auto Shut Off) Kit is upgraded to a High-Pressure ASO Kit and the Pressure Gauge is upgraded to a Glycerin-Filled Pressure Gauge to handle the higher water pressure.
Mako RO/DI System
The MAKO RO/DI System is the big brother of the standard Barracuda. A second DI (Deionization) stage is added to improve performance and extend service life. A backlit TDS Meter is also added to allow you to monitor system performance and when the filters need to be changed.
Hammerhead RO/DI System
The Hammer Head RO/DI system is a smart RO/DI system that features an Auto Flush Controller. TDS Monitoring Functions are also built into the controller. Together with the Booster Pump, the Hammer Head can produce up to 100GPD at a 1:1 Product-To-Waste Water Ratio! Additional features include an upgraded Glycerin-Filled Pressure Gauge and an Adjustable Flow Restrictor that allows you to dial in performance. All of these great features are mounted on a compact Steel Bracket to minimize footprint and lower cost over our larger Aluminum Bracket. The Hammer Head is perfect for automated filling of barrels or other reservoirs.
Octopus RO/DI System
The Octopus RO/DI System has all the same great features as the Hammer Head: RO Controller, Booster Pump, etc. The difference being that the Octopus is mounted on our large heavy-duty aluminum bracket. The larger bracket allows for more canisters and upgrades that can be mounted on to the system: such as Chloramine Blaster upgrade and Dual-DI upgrade.
Great White RO/DI System
The Great White RO/DI System is a beast of a system that makes a ton of zero TDS water, FAST! With an output of 300GPD and three DI filters, the Great White is perfect for those with very large aquariums, a fish room with multiple aquariums, Coral Farmers and even smaller stores. Other features include a Booster Pump with an ASO (auto shut off) kit, Backlit TDS Meter, manual flush kit and a Glycerin-Filled Pressure Gauge.
Whale Shark 7-Stage RO/DI System
The Whale Shark takes water purification to another level. With seven stages of filtration, the Whale Shark produces the purist water for your reef aquarium. Three dedicated Deionization stages (Cation, Anion & Mix-Bed) captures every bit of impurity that may be in the water while allowing you to replace each individual DI resin separately. Water is prefiltered by a sediment filter and two carbon filters. Additional features include a manual flush kit and a ASO valve for convenient operation.
Afishionado-Special 7-Stage RO/DI System
In collaboration with Richard Back of Afishionado and Reefs.com, we came up with the ultimate RO/DI system for the advanced reef hobbyists; with all the bells and whistles that one would want. Starting with the Whale Shark, the Afishionado-Special adds a booster pump, an adjustable flow restrictor, standard Chloramine Blaster cartridges and an auto-flush RO controller. High/Low pressure sensors and solenoids are also added to ensure the entire system works seamlessly and continually provide you with the purest water possible.
