Membranes & Filters
Membranes and Filters Replacement Filter Sets – we recommend changing your bottom filters (sediment, carbon block, DI) every 6 months. Or, filter life can be more accurately monitored with a TDS Meter and pressure gauge. The filter sets are conveniently packaged to let you pick out exactly what you need. Our filter sets also fit most other brands or RO and RO/DI systems. Reverse Osmosis Membranes – The RO Membrane is the heart of your RO and RO/DI system. Aqua FX RO membranes are made in the USA! Offering the best rejection rates and the most consistent quality. RO Membrane is also known as a TFC (Thin Film Composite) membrane. It utilizes multiple layers of semi-permeable membranes along with water pressure to separate water from impurities. Standard RO Membranes will produce a waste-to-product water ratio of 4:1 and remove 95%-98% of impurities from water. A higher water pressure with the use of a booster pump will help to improve the production rate and waste-water ratio. Our new 1:1 RO membrane features a proprietary design that gives you a 1: 1 waste water ratio without sacrificing water quality or membrane life. Sediment Filters – the sediment filter is the first stage of your RO or RO/DI System. It filters out any sediment, silt or other particles down to as small as 1 micron. We recommend replacing sediment filters when a 5 PSI pressure drop is noticed, or when the carbon filter is changed. Changing your sediment filter is a cost friendly way to ensure longer RO membrane life. Carbon Filters – the carbon block filter is the second stage of your RO or RO/DI system. It is great for removing chlorine, fluoride, pesticides and other VOCs. AquaFX offers several different carbon block filters. The standard is our 2-micron Chlorine Guzzler Carbon Block that offers a great combination of performance and value. Upgrading to a GAC Carbon Filter helps to extend service life by 30%. Our top-of-the-line High Capacity Carbon Filter has four times the capacity of the standard filter. Chloramine Blaster carbon filters effectively remove chloramines that is becoming more common in city water. Two Chloramine Blaster cartridges must be used in series to allow enough contact time to remove chloramines. DI Filters & Resin - the Deionization stage is the final stage of your RO/DI system and is what will purify your water down to ZERO TDS. At AquaFX, we use USA-sourced high-quality resin and we hand-pack our DI cartridges in house. Once water is filtered by the RO Membrane, any remaining impurities is absorbed by the DI Resin inside the cartridge. Impurities have either a positive charge or a negative charge. A mixed-bed DI filter contains both cation resin that absorbs positive-charged impurities and anion resin that absorbs negative-charged impurities. For systems with multiple DI cartridges, you also have the option to run different resin in different cartridges. This allows you to extend service life by replacing the cartridge that gets used up quicker. AquaFX offers pre-packed cartridges as well as empty refillable cartridges that you can fill with the various DI resins we offer. Add-On Filters – looking to upgrade your system? We offer add-on filter kits to improve water quality, piggy back kits to increase water production and inline UV to further sterilize water. AquaFX is the leaders in Reverse Osmosis. We have everything you need to achieve your water filtration goals.
