Twin-Alternating 48,000 Grain Whole House Water Softener - Metered Regenerated
Never run out of softened water! Twin-Alternating softeners are ideal for situations where uninterrupted flow of soft water is a must. One resin tank is always in service, while the other tank is in standby. When the meter determines that the resin is near its capacity, it will switch the tank in standby to be in service, and the tank containing the exhausted resin will begin regeneration and wait in standby until the other tank is ready for regeneration.

How It works
Water softeners work by utilizing ion exchange resins to absorb & remove hard minerals (such as calcium and magnesium) from your water. The resin is automatically regenerated periodically (with a Timer or Meter) with a brine solution that flushes all the minerals from the resin. Maintenance requirement is extremely minimal as all you need to do is to add salt to the brine tank of your water softener system.
A water softener system will typically last 10-15 years using just 1-2 bags of salt per month (typical family with 1-2 adults and average water quality/use).
