Life expectancy can vary quite significantly depending on the water quality and how much water you go through. For a typical hobbyist, the bottom cartridges will last about 6 months and the top membranes will last 1-2 years. However, it you make a lot of water or your source water quality is very poor, the life expectancy of the filter cartridges can be significantly shorter. Checking the TDS and the pressure gauge regularly will help to determine when the filters need to be changed.

Our systems typically work great for both municipal water and well water. However, there can sometimes be surprises in well water, so it would be best to have a water sample tested to see if anything additional filters or parts are needed.
