Recommended Reactor & Bag Options

Fluidized Media Reactor: The absolute best option. Forces water evenly through the entire media bed to completely eliminate dead zones and maximize phosphate absorption.
Optional Mesh Bag Use: If a reactor is not available, the media can be placed in a fine 200-micron mesh bag with a plastic, rustproof zipper.
Flexible Sump Placement: When using a bag, it must be molded directly into high-velocity baffles or overflow drops to force passive water flow through the granules.

Quick Use Guidelines

Reactor Loading: Fill your fluidizing reactor chamber with the required dosage of high-capacity GFO.
Initial Rinse: Direct the initial reactor output water into a separate bucket until the water runs completely clear to flush away transport dust.
Tumble Adjustment: Adjust the flow valve so the surface of the GFO bed has a very gentle, slow boil or simmer. Do not tumble aggressively.
Exhaustion Lifespan: Switch out your media every 4 to 8 weeks, or immediately when aquarium phosphate tests begin to climb.
