Q: Sorry dumb question. Do I use this in my second stage filter (after sediment and before RO membrane?) It looks different from the premade carbon filters so I wanted to be sure!

Yes. This is use in the 2nd stage after your sediment filter and before the RO. Fill an empty filter cartridge loosely (do not over-pack as it will cause channeling/bypass) and flush the cartridge. Disconnect the tubing going to the inlet of the RO membrane to flush the carbon cartridge for about 5 minutes then you can reconnect the tubing going to the RO membrane to start making water for use.
