Carbon Filters – the carbon block filter is the second stage of your RO or RI/DI system. It is great for removing chlorine, fluoride, herbicides, pesticides, VOCs (volatile organic compounds such as; benzene, ethylene glycol, formaldehyde, methylene chloride, tetrachloroethylene, toluene, xylene, and 1,3-butadiene), THMs (trihalomethanes are potentially cancer-causing chemical compounds that form when water is treated with chlorine. These include bromodichloromethane, bromoform, dibromochloromethane, and chloroform) and SOCs (synthetics organic compounds such as Atrazine, 2,4-D, Dioxin, Toxaphene and Polychlorinated Biphenyls-PCBs).
AquaFX offers several different carbon block filters. The standard is our 2-micron Chlorine Guzzler Carbon Block that offers a great combination of performance and value. Upgrading to a GAC Carbon Filter helps to extend service life by 30%. Our top-of-the-line High Capacity Carbon Filter has four times the capacity of the standard filter. Chloramine Blaster carbon filters effectively remove chloramines that is becoming more common in city water. Two Chloramine Blaster cartridges must be used in series to allow enough contact time to remove chloramines.
