Q: How often do you have to flush the membrane and what are the signs that you need to flush it or get another one?

Accepted Answer

Flushing for 1-2 minutes should be done before and after every use, ideally. At the minimum, the system should be flushed once a week. If the RO membrane is not flushed often, the particulates will get caked on to the membrane and flushing will have minimal impact. When this occurs and system performance drops, the RO membrane will need to be replaced.
