AquaFX Barracuda Glacial 100 GPD RO/DI System
The AquaFX Barracuda Glacial 100 GPD RO/DI is a premium, 4-stage water purifier hand-built in the USA. While engineered from the ground up to meet the exacting standards of the residential reef enthusiast, its laboratory-grade performance is never limited to just aquariums. By removing 100% of harmful impurities, phosphates, and minerals, it delivers ultra-pure, 0 TDS water trusted across a diverse range of demanding industries.
Designed for Reefs, Versatile for All
Though the system is the premier choice for marine hobbyists needing perfect top-off and makeup water, its absolute purity makes it a go-to solution for many other applications:
- Aquarium & Reef Keepers: Eradicates algae-fueling nutrients and phosphates to maintain pristine coral and fish environments.
- Hydroponics & Indoor Gardeners: Provides a clean, "blank canvas" baseline so growers can perfectly manage nutrient ratios without tap water interference.
- Automotive Detailers & Window Washers: Delivers a truly spotless, mineral-free rinse on vehicles and glass surfaces without hand-drying.
- Laboratory & Medical Facilities: Serves as a reliable source for chemical formulations, reagent mixing, and testing baselines.
- Cosmetic & Soap Makers: Ensures batches remain completely free of organic contaminants and minerals that could affect product texture or shelf-life.
- Industrial Maintenance: Ideal for high-end parts washing and preventing scale buildup in specialized equipment.
Premium "Glacial" Upgrades
The Glacial edition upgrades the traditional Barracuda system by adding four advanced monitoring and automation features:
- Dual-TDS Meter: Built-in backlit display to monitor your water purity in real-time.
- Automatic Shut-Off Kit: Shuts down water production automatically when your reservoir is full.
- Manual Flush Kit: Easily clears out built-up scale and debris to extend membrane life.
- Quick-Disconnect Check Valve: Blocks backward water flow and simplifies routine maintenance.
The 4-Stage Filtration Process
- Stage 1 — Sediment Filter: AquaFX Premium 1-micron filter traps dirt, rust, and sand particles.
- Stage 2 — Carbon Pre-Filter: Chlorine Guzzler carbon block safe-guards the system against harsh chlorine disinfectants.
- Stage 3 — RO Membrane: Made-in-USA TFC membrane rejects up to 98% of microscopic contaminants.
- Stage 4 — DI Resin: Color-indicating mixed-bed resin strips away final trace solids for absolute purity.

Important: Chloramine Protection Options
- Chloramine Treatment: Please note that the standard Chlorine Guzzler carbon block included with this system is designed to treat traditional Chlorine only. It does not treat Chloramines. If your local municipal water supply uses chloramines as a disinfectant, you must protect your system using one of the following methods to prevent premature damage to your RO membrane and ensure complete filtration:
- Upgrade at Purchase: Select the upgraded AquaFX Chloramine Blaster System directly to swap out the standard carbon stage for advanced chloramine-destroying carbon. (Note: This option increases the total system width to 22.5").
- Add-On Later: Purchase the standalone AquaFX Chloramine Blaster Add-On Kit to retro-fit your existing system with an additional filtration stage designed specifically to neutralize chloramines.
Performance & Water Pressure Note
Maximum output is calculated based on standard optimal conditions: 65 PSI water pressure, 77°F temperature, and 250 ppm source water. Lower water pressure, colder seasonal temperatures, or highly concentrated source water will reduce daily GPD output. A dedicated booster pump is highly recommended if your local water pressure sits below 45 PSI.
